A piece from my show Jonny Thaw: Loves His Country. The piece periodically moved a robotic arm and dropped blood on the flag, slowly turning it into a red flag over time
Theres a very good argument to say that I should not send e-mails for a large stretch of time everytime. Reason #1 - less e-mails clogging up boxes, good guy me. Reason #2 - I get a taste of that sweet sweet curated instagram life, by condensing lots of things that I've done over months and months, into one e-mail to make it look like things are just really great.
I've done the thing that I think everyone can relate to, where I wanted to finish a revamp of my website before sending another e-mail, but then that never really happens. But it will soon and I think the new one looks really nice (obviously).

I had my first ever show of my work. It's really the first ever time that I showed my art practice at all and I think it went really well. It was called Jonny Thaw: Loves His Country and was held at Swan Hill Studios in Shrewsbury.
It was great getting to do a show about work that is meaningful to me and definitely on the scarier end of my comfort zone in terms of putting it out there, there was definitely some work that I was worried would get me into trouble, but truly it was meant to be a love letter to my country and a desire to do better. Anyway, a much better write up and review of it will hopefully live on my site soon, but thank you so much for anyone who is here and came, it was a great turn out and I was really moved by everyones support for it.
There is a great write up of it here on instagram

I incredibly have a product up on the absolute greatest of all time Second Best Damn Pet Shop in Town. I have long been inspired by the ouevre of bootleg simpsons merch and especially the incredible obsessive art books like A pocket companion to books from the Simpsons so am really proud to have added something to that genre. Please buy one! At £8 its what they call in the biz a 'stocking stuffer' for what they call in the biz 'a proper simpsons nerd'

I have been helping run Open Door Cinema Club, with Louis, Matt, Ted and Mike in Shrewsbury and we finished our first run of 5 films and it went amazingly well! I've got to play as art director, so I've done all the design for everything, including a lot of fun art and activities for the nights themselves.
I made a big cloud ufo for Nope! Origami flies for the Fly! Flower crowns for Midsommar! Its the dream

I have also managed to get my Gucci Body Bag into a show too, another one in Shrewsbury, mine was the one on the floor getting trodden on all the time taking up all the space. Having to speak to an older demographic about why I've made a body bag, is always a thrill. But hey ho, all good stuff

I got the great chance to make the on/off digital piece for the gallery 'No Show Space' (thanks daniel and tina). Its a fun interaction, if you go to the site and click the 'On' you get to see it transform into a lovely marble like bit of work, utilising all of the work on the site as the paints for this mine.
See it in action No Show Space
Wow what a rush, thanks for looking through this. Actually its work I've been very proud of, so am very happy to be able to share it also. I hope you are doing good too,
Yours faithfully
